Raven Maps - The Merging of Truth and Beauty

MEDFORD, Ore. -- Raven Maps & Images of Medford has been publishing wall maps for over 20 years. Their maps for each of the 50 states, the United States, Mexico, North America and the World are presented in tinted and shaded depictions of landforms and the cities that dot them. Many customers consider the maps works of art suitable for permanent display.
"When a map is on the wall it's always used, you'll never have to turn
it on or reboot," says Michael Beard, a manager at Raven. "Whether you're a
student looking for a mountain range or a grandparent showing where you
grew up, a map is a wonderful tool."
Considered by many to be producers of the world's most beautiful maps,
Raven is a small company with a big reputation. Since they started in 1987,
the field of cartography has seen significant changes in production
techniques and Raven has incorporated this technology to enhance the beauty
and accuracy of its maps.
Peter Fish of Sunset Magazine referred to Raven's shaded relief maps
"with mountains and canyons painted so voluptuously that on unrolling the
map it is impossible to resist the temptation to run your finger over the
revealed landscape."
It isn't unusual for people to call and describe the map they saw as
being "a bumpy map", or a raised map. Customer service manager Sue Mapolski
has had to explain to these callers on many occasions, that the maps are
flat, but appear strikingly three-dimensional. Beard says many orders for
the holiday season come from repeat customers. "People know that our maps
are a gift that stands out and will be used and appreciated for many
years."
Raven began publishing wall maps in 1987. Starting with the western
states, it finished the state map series in 2004. Along the way it also
produced several maps of the World, North America, two United States maps
and Mexico.
Raven maps range from $30 to $60 and can be found online at
